India is a large country with many creators and viewers. More than 500 million Indians are now connected to the internet. India is becoming a great market for video creators. New apps are coming (tick-tok, hello, etc.) due to great opportunity of being successful. As many as 245 million Indians watch YouTube on their phones each month.

The "Laung Laachi" is the first Indian music video to cross 1 billion views on 20 December 2019.
As of 16 April 2020, 6 videos have exceeded 1 billion views, 5 of which are rhymes aimed at children. YouTube channel for children ChuChu TV has 3 videos in billion view club.
